Aet paused in shocked silence, then relayed the message to Dyra. She stiffened. "Why did he kill them?" she prompted, and Aet asked the man, nervously lashing his lion-like tail back and forth behind him.

"I killed them because they worship that insane goddess who has my people living in fear of her and never allowing any male to follow their own dreams of ture freedom from Lolth's grip," the Drow said after swallowing the chewed up dry meat with water.

Aet repeated the message to Dyra, and both were silent for a time. "Well, we can't let him stay here," Dyra murmured. "He'll be found." "Why do you always care about every flea-bitten beggar who comes our way?" Aet replied moodily. "He's a murderer, Dyra. We should be on our way. If we stay, WE'LL be found." Dyra paused, but made no move to leave. "Ask him if he'd like to travel with us," she said firmly. "And no twisting it just because I can't understand what you're saying." Aet sighed, then asked the man the question with no emotion or enthusiasm.

"I'll travel with you two as long my people won't find me, but first I'm going to need help to get to someplace where I can recover some of my strength back" the Drow said after he finsh eating the jerky and drinking the water.

Dyra nodded when Aet told her what he'd said. "Tell him we're already on our way to the next town. If the person we asked is right, it should be no more than a few hours off. We'll be there by sunset at the latest." Aet nodded, seeming relieved that the town was close. "Then we'd better head off quickly," he replied to Dyra after translating. Dyra nodded. "Tell him we're off as soon as he can walk." Aet nodded and told the man.

"Then I'm going to need some help to stand up," the Drow said even through he don't trust the Imp and the Human, but he is going to need their help to get to someplace where he can recover his strength.

When Aet told Dyra this, she nodded and held out a hand to the man, standing and preparing to haul him to his feet. Aet leaped into her backpack, as he wouldn't be any help in getting the man on his feet again, seeing as he was less than two feet tall and had no hands.

The Drow grabbed the Human's hand and allowed her to help him get onto his feet and he has a feeling that he is going to be tired out once they are at someplace that he can rest, eat, and regain at least some of his strength so that he could travel with this Human who is helping him.

Dyra made sure he was steady on his feet, and then Aet poked his head out of the pack. "I'm going to be translator for a while, aren't I?" he asked bitterly. "Yes, you are," Dyra said, a smile on her face. Aet groaned, and then Dyra set off on a slightly slower pace than before, to let the Drow man keep up.

The Drow followed after her slowly because of how weak and worn out he is that he had to rest once a while so that he can keep up with the Human.

Dyra made sure to wait for him every time, though she watched the path behind them warily. Aet simply sat in the pack, always watching the path when they were walking. "Y'know, we might get caught and busted because of this guy," he muttered at one point. "If it were me, I'd want help," Dyra replied. "Well, it's not you, and you don't need help, so I say we go on ahead without him." Dyra shook her head. "You never know, some people can be very faithful in repaying debt when it's most needed." Aet simply stopped talking, since he knew Dyra was right. Being as friendly and likable as possible was a smart move, as it made people less likely to rat them out.

The Drow listens on what they are saying so that he can learn the language to understand what they are saying and he is starting to take longer restings because of how weak and worn out he is, and he hates being this weak and tired out because of what he had went through to gain his freedom from those who worship that damned Spider Queen Lolth.

Dyra kept walking, patiently waiting for the Drow to catch his breath every time he needed to and ignoring Aet's snide remarks. Then they topped a hill and looked down upon a small town below. Dyra gave a sigh of relief at the same time Aet did. "We're here," she said happily. "The town of Knorr." She started walking down the path, which sloped downhill steeply. They'd be there in a few moments, just before the sun went down.

The Drow is becoming nervous about what will happen next once they reached the town knowing the reputation of his people and what his people have done to the Surface-dwellers over the centuries.

The Drow will have to relie on the female Human's help to deal with the people of the town and hopefully a place he can recover some of his strength back so that he can leave the town with the female Human when tensions get to high.

Aet vanished into Dyra's pack when they reached the town and Dyra led the Drow through the streets to an inn in the back. A few people looked up in surprise, but most left them alone. "Excuse me, sir, I need two rooms for the night," she said to the bartender. "Sweetheart, you gotta pay for them." Dyra frowned. "I have the money," she said, putting a few gold and silver coins on the table. Most people assumed she was younger than she was. The bartender squinted at the coins, then nodded. "That'll get ye dinner and two rooms," he said, pointing them to a table in the back. Dyra turned to walk toward the table, wondering what it was the inn was serving that night.
