Thomas smiled and looked behind him. "Just eggs, Les." he said with a mild shrug. He glanced back to Christine. "You're going to eat this morning right?"

Leslie kissed his shoulder, smiling at his wings. She gave the bird on his arm another kiss, and then took a seat at the counter.

Christine watched Thomas and Leslie. It wasn't that they made her uncomfortable. It was cute, really. But they had something she'd never had and probably wouldn't ever had either. She blinked and looked up after a while, shaking her head and putting her coffee down. Even that seemed to good right now. "No... thank you though." She said. "I'm... going to go back to my room..." She walked out and into her room.

Thomas frowned and looked back. "Something I said?" he asked softly. "Why don't you have a look see."

Eva was in the room, packing meticulously. The photograph stuck in the frame of the mirror had been carefully removed and stowed away along with the letters and the music box. She packed like a soldier--everything fit perfectly in its place. She was in civilian attire right now, smoking as she closed up her bag and straightened up the sheets. The bed was made so well it had creases.

Leslie nodded and slipped out after Christine. "Hey, you okay?" she asked quietly in the doorway.

Christine looked up, surprised that Leslie had come after her. "No, Leslie I'm fine. Go back to Thomas and the eggs. The smell good yeah?" She smiled.

Christine nodded. "Of course I am." She lied, though smiled at her. "Everything's fine." She looked back down at her hands.

Leslie watched her for a long moment. "You know... I've lived with girls most my life..." she said slowly. "I know when they're lying." But she ducked out of the room all the same, heading back to the kitchen.

Christine shook her head. So what if she was lying. Leslie had her own life to worry about, a man to hold her if she was in trouble and a child on the way. She laid down on her bed and curled up under a blanket. She didn't feel like getting out of bed today... maybe for her date. If you could call it that.

Thomas finished making breakfast, and he seerved Leslie a plate. He made some for Vossler and Alex too, but he knew they would probably be up a bit later.

***

Vossler stirred awake and kissed down Alex's arm. The past three nights had been wonderful. Just her and him. No worries in the world. He was so glad he had had the coruage to run away. Fianlly life was in his control.

Thomas smiled and sat down at the table. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "Big day of shopping today. Hopefully I can ask Voss to finish that room. I'll pay him of course."

***

Vossler hugged Alex close. "G'morning." he whispered. He was tired from last night. Still in a dream half-awake state.

Leslie was half finished with her eggs by the time he asked. "I"m fine," she said, smiling. "You still excited to shop?"
