"But what?" Lillith asked. "Tell me what is wrong." She said, wanting to know... He wasn't telling her, more... beating around everything.

Mikhail looked to her. "What?" He asked her. "Why leave it? What if....what if we need it?" He asked softly. He moved to a gutter and lifted a metal box out of it. The shirt was inside. He smiled a little and pulled it out.

Damion frowned, looking out the window. Clouds were slowly rolling in towards the city, dark and angry. "But I've failed in that," he whispered. "All that. I can... no longer call myself a protector... I ran from my order... There is something..." He sighed again and shook his head as lightning flashed behind him.
"I went out when some people came to our order in distress... An evil wizard was terrorizing small villages... Several brothers of Torm and myself went to help. What we found... was no wizard. It was a demon."


Aurora shrugged a bit. "I really don't think we will," she said softly. "We have plenty of funds." She looked up as the sky darkened, clouds rolling in above them.

Lillith frowned and nodded, but she waited for him to continue.

Mikhail pulled out his last stash. "I can't just get rid of food." He said defiantly. "You don't understand. Most nights I starve. I go sometimes three or four days without eating...It's not...in me to leave food behind."
He looked up to the sky, uneasy though.

Damion took another breath, leaning his shoulder against the wall near the window, still not looking at her. "It killed them," he said quietly. "Everyone. I... did my best against it... And I... nearly won. I could tell. I was... an instant from banishing it... and then..." He shook his head. "I woke up in the middle of a field... where its tower had once been."

Aurora slowly nodded, watching him. "Alright," she said softly. "Whatever you feel is right. They are your supplies."

Lillith frowned. "What happened?" She asked him slowly, watching him.

Mikhail nodded slowly and swallowed, bundling up his things. "Yeah...I have to keep them." He said softly.

Damion swallowed quietly and looked at her, but it was brief, as another flash of lightning took his attention back out the window. "It's inside of me, Lilith," he whispered. "That... fiend... it can take over my body... That's why... last night... I had to stop the fight... if there is... any violence anywhere nearby... It would have killed everyone... with my own two hands..."
He stood there quietly for a long while, crossing his arms over his chest to hide that his hands were shaking. He was expecting to hear the door any moment... expecting her to run. Hell, he'd run from himself if he could.


Aurora smiled a bit and nodded. "Well let's hurry and get the rest before it rains on us," she said, urging him along.

Lillith did not move however. Instead... she just watched him carefully... "You are possessed by the demon." She said, more to herself then anyone else, she was processing it. "Does it control you often?"

Mikhail nodded. "That was it." He said softly. "Let's get back quickly." He said eagerly.

Damion's eyes moved in her direction, but it wasn't a direct look to her. "I suppose 'often' is... relative," he said very quietly. "Considering once is far too many times."


Aurora nodded and walked with him quickly back towards the inn. She laughed a little as they walked in the door, the rain breaking just as they were safely beyond its reach.

Lillith frowned at that and nodded. "I'm sorry." She said, thinking of nothing better to say to him. She did not know what he was going through, nor could she imagine it, but she could see the sort of pain that he was in.

Mikhail grinned at her, holding the bundle of supplies. "Pretty awesome huh." He said lightly. "We got here just in time!"

Damion sighed quietly, watching the rain. "I know... you have your obligations here," he said slowly. "But you are obviously a capable woman... and I... hope I might ask another favor of you?" He was too ashamed though to look at her though.


Aurora smiled at him and nodded. "Perfect timing," she said. "Well... we should get your things to your room, don't you think?"
