Daaj turned to Ishtar. "How are you feeling? Any better?" He asked softly.

Ishtar glanced up at him. "A little, I guess," she whispered. She licked her lips a little. "Sorry you... have to keep carrying me around..."

Daaj smiled. "to be honest, I'm going to be sad the day you won't need my help any longer." He said with a sigh, moving over the back behind him.

Ishtar smiled a little and shook her head. "That's silly," she whispered as he picked her up.

"Is it?" Daaj said. "Well, i won't be able to be this close." He chuckled. "Or hold you. Carry you..." He inhaled. "Well...I'll miss the excuse."

Ishtar smiled a little and shrugged. "Why do you need an excuse?" she whispered quietly.

Daaj looked down to her. 'It has nothing to do with you, I assure you." He said softly. "Just...the Path..." He sighed a bit and lowered his head.

Ishtar nodded a little. "Right," she whispered. "Forgot..." Although she hated thinking that it might just be a convenient excuse for him. He knew exactly what had happened to her. Of course he wouldn't want anything to do with her...

Daaj paused, standing in front of the door way as the sun set. "You're uhm... the first real test I've had against my purity." He admitted softly. "I don't know why I'm telling yuo this...but you're special."

Ishtar licked her lips a little, unable to look up at him. She certainly didn't feel special. "Thanks," she murmured though. "I think..."

Daaj swallowed a little and gently dipped his head, gently....ever so gently pressing his lips to her forehead. He exhaled and closed his eyes. "We should...get going."

Ishtar blinked a little and glanced up at him, but she nodded. "Alright," she whispered quietly. She turned into him a little though and closed her eyes as he started walking, hiding her face.

Daaj nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. He felt sick almost, but he walked outside the city gate. "There's the cart."

Teron was just finishing strapping his horse in to pull the cart. He waved a bit as they approached. "'Bout time, slow poke."

Daaj smiled, but only briefly. He sat Ishtar down on the bench but laid out blankets and a pillow for her so she could rest and be more comfortable.
