A Universe of Technology. Humanity has spread among the stars, their seeds being dropped and planets terraformed. Human technology is advanced a great deal, though there are still great limits. Other races have been discovered, on the far fringes of human civilization. While the Core of the Human systems are against the multitude of aliens and races beyond what they know, the outer ring systems interact and even flourish with them.

This is a science fiction roleplaying group. Here science dictates, and magick does not exist. Yet, there are still ways to manipulate and bend energy to your will, allowing something for everyone. Please feel free to look around and join us if you are so inclined. (AtS is loosely based on Traveller, the game.)

Among the Stars is a science fiction role-play group set in the year 2203. Humanity has reached the stars and made contact with many alien races. Still, old battles rage and new problems arise.

Dusting off the Circuit Boards

Its hard to believe we've been collecting Dust for the Last three years, but there you are.

And since then, at least offline AtS has evolved, been streamlined and continued to move forward. As such, I felt it was time to update the Group, even if it isn't active the way it was before.

Much of the information here will be updated and while the group will stay free-form, open to any and all who may wish to be part of it, due to obligations elsewhere I will not be able to participate in RP in the forums or Chat. But I hope others will make use of them.

A run down of the major changes;

Races will get a major overhaul, as will the timeline.

1 New forum will be created - One which is fully free form and can consider the information in this group merely suggestions - any form of Scifi roleplay may exist there, unbound by the AtS universe.

A new section of the Group will be created for the chronicling of Stories/storylines that take place within the AtS universe

All other sections of the Database will receive at least some updates.

In addition, If there is an interested party who is active on FR and willing to respect the world created herein, I am looking for another moderator who could bring the forums alive and keep them burning since I cannot.

^Hello Dave. The Advance Graphics have been loaded and are now in Use.^

^The Holographic Virtual Historic Playback Device has been running with some enthusiasm now for nearly 6 months. I commend the efforts of all those who have helped in that endeavor. Though the Stellar Speaker Program has been lagging. ^

^Continue the Good work, Among the Stars is brought to life by you, the Personnel involved in it, and the stories and lives you bring.^

^A Secondary Program on this system, known as the Cliffside Tavern is having an Open Virtual Conference chat on Monday. The STARS Operating System suggests that all those free intend to participate in this event. For more information, Please see the Main Page of the Cliffside Tavern.^

Developments and Future Possibilities at AoS

^Welcome User. The Stellar Speaker Weekly for Among the Stars news is Uploaded as requested.^

^A few days ago, there was an attack on the Earth Terran Colony of Holis, which reports indicated might have been the first aggressive act from the Theran race in over a hundred years. The whereabouts of the Therans are still unknown, however it seems that there were other alien factions involved suggesting that the Therans have been planning such an attack. The Space Station orbiting Holis was destroyed as was the BattleCruiser Firefox and the military base on Holis itself, resulting in the deaths of 11,329 people.^

^Many Reports are still classified and the exact nature of the Attack, as well as the identity of a mysterious third party ship that aided the Earth-Terran forces are still unknown. More information will be forthcoming.^

^In other News, Among the Stars is currently looking at the Positive and negative aspects of doing offical rp outside of the Forums, such as in a Chatroom. This is still in the Preliminary stages, and there is no guaranty that it will progress any farther, however if it does, it would be a once weekly chat that would supplement the Forum Rp.^

^Finally, AoS is planning a Spring Cleaning of Sorts. Many members have not been active, in any way, and Notices will soon be sent out concerning this. If the members wish to keep their characters on AoS, please respond to the notice and it will be done. Otherwise, after 3 warnings, it will be removed. This is not meant as punishment, but rather a way to discover who is actually interested in joining the Rp. If you are interested but haven't figured out a way to jump in, just PM Tobias Woulfe, and He'll find a way. As always, if you character is removed and you wish to rejoin, you are free to do so.^

Computers are up and Running

^All systems are now online and fully functional. A few bits of stray code have yet to be corrected, but otherwise everything should be in working order. AI out.^

The Among the Stars Roleplaying group is finally announcing its opening. Though we have already been open, it has never been offically announced. We are a science fiction group, with its own unique history and races and technologies, and we'd love people to come by, look at the information we have (Databank, Solar Map, Photgraphic Stills being the improtant ones), and maybe even join us for rp.

^Hello user. Recent updates have now been installed, allowing fuller access to my file tree. Some racial data has been added to the Databank, and the Holographic Virtual Historical Playback Device (HVHP) has been installed.

^I have taken the liberty of loading relevant Data into the file called Character Guide. As well the Entries in Databank should help review your Biology and Social Studies Classes. The Solar map will help with your Geography and Astrology Classes.^
