Guess what Duck ? Centrifugal force doesn't exist.

Perhaps you meant centripetal ? =P

AD is right.

Hate to tell you Alanon, but you're the one whose misinformed, Centrifugal forces do exist. They are the equal and opposite force of centripetal. They draw things away from the center of rotation as opposed to centripital which draws things towards the center.

This isn't amusing.

If you're willing to nitpick an entry over one universally-recognized word, then the nature of the contest is lost. It's true: in Physics, there is no centrifugal force. It's an illusion created by the nature of a spinning object to move forward, and the nature of the centripetal, inward-pulling force, to keep it properly orbiting in a spin.

HOWEVER, this illusion is coloquially known as centrifugal force. And therefore, as a concept, it is given life.

Don't tear apart someone's work because they're not a licensed physicist...

Exactly, this is for fun and centrifugal force is compeltely valid term to use. The fact is that it may not be a "real" force, but it still is used in equations and other things, kind of like the number i. Math and physics are full of fictious things that are used in real ways.

Boys.. Please. When i read it, i didnt stop giggling for ten minutes. Is this a FANTASY relm or a SCIENTIFIC realm? To paraphrase a friend of mine. "Make up words as they are needed." I think tearing this apart because of one word that is questionabbly webster approved is making us loose the creativity and the fun that went into the post to begin with.

AD.. kudos.

1. when you assume, it makes an ass of u and me
2. no one should ever take themselves seriously. not ever.
3. when people do take themselves seriously everyone around them should point and laugh to get them to take the cats from their butts.
4. all of this is hilarious. congrats are due to AD for making people riled enough to make fools of themselves. i tip my bonnet to you :D
